Narrative
The city agreed to reimburse Wal-Mart $585,000 for sewer, road and water improvements necessary for the development. The funds for the reimbursement were to come from sales taxes generated by the new Supercenter above a certain base level or from the sale by the city of 26.5 acres of land donated to it by Wal-Mart (this land is part of the property Wal-Mart purchased but will not build on). The value of the land is unknown, so it is not possible to determine how much of the subsidy will in effect be offset by its sale.
