Narrative
An article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on November 13, 2004 reported that the Wood River City Council agreed to provide a developer $6 million in tax-increment financing funds and $2 million from a business district sales tax for infrastructure costs relating to this Wal-Mart Supercenter (the development was to include other stores as well). The Supercenter replaced a Wal-Mart discount store that was also built with TIF money. City officials did not return calls from Good Jobs First for more information.
